Mermaid Coast Spring Tour Overview
Since ancient times, people have been captivated by the Tyrrhenian Sea coastline. The pristine blue waters and dramatic cliff faces conjured up myths and legends, many featuring sirens, mermaids and people of the sea. On our trip to the Mermaid Coast we take in the stunning beauty and contrasts of the Cilento region, just south of the Amalfi Coast, and the incomparable majesty of the isle of Capri.
Departing from Naples in late May, we’ll follow in the path of Ulysses and soak up the fresh sea breezes, tastiest dishes and crisp matching wines of southern Italy. An experience to be treasured for a lifetime, you’ll meet charming locals, admire ancient ruins and learn how to recreate the healthful dishes of the region.
If you’ve ever wondered what the Amalfi Coast is like with local flavor and without the crowds, this tour is for you. Our week on the Mermaid Coast departs in late Spring, early Summer, when the sun shines bright and the seas are warm. Local produce and bounty from the sea and the land is abundant and nutritious.
We’ll take backroads and nature paths and spend time soaking up local traditions, ancient villages and pristine nature. This is the coast so admired by poets, writers, musicians and even Emperors who have walked these shores before you. Come with an open heart and eyes and prepare to embrace one of the most beautiful coastlines on earth.
